Dear Freshman of 2016

Let me start off be saying high school is a huge difference compared to middle school. I feel like these 5 steps or 5 Methods to get through freshman year successfully is one  Do all of your homework. One of my methods to not forgetting about my homework was to put reminders for each class that had homework. Number two is staying out of trouble which is hard for pretty much everyone and is especially hard in high school because some of your friends are doing it doesn’t need to mean you have to do it. Me personally I am a very strong minded and driven person and have self-discipline but I’ve seen many of my “friends” make some terrible choices. My third tip or step to surviving high school is to Study for tests. Well of course but what I specifically mean is to find your personal way of studying to get all the knowledge needed to pass the test or quiz with a 100%. My fourth step or tip to surviving high school is to be open to making friends and be willing to let people leave your life if they want to leave they will be missing out but oh well its a part of life and is inevitable but you will for sure see who your true friends are. My Final step to surviving high school is to keep good attendance I know its hard at times but it helps in the long run.

Is violence ever justified?

When is violence justified?  Should the law allow us to carry out acts of violence if it serves the greater good? For example, should a parent be allowed to hit their children to discipline them? If someone breaks into my house, can I hit them over the head with a cricket bat to protect myself?  If I know that a person is going to commit a violent crime, can I beat him with a club to stop him?  If someone knows something which will save the lives of millions of people, can I hold a gun to her head and threaten to pull the trigger unless she tells me?  Can I give her an electric shock to make her reveal this secret?  Could I threaten to shoot her child unless she told me? Could I actually shoot her child if she didn’t? Can a country at war with another kill the innocent citizens of its enemy?
In my opinion violence should be used is some cases but not all. Unnecessary violence is not acceptable and should be used with little to no force. and should just be taken to authority and handled from there and have follow up meetings

Of Mice and Men

My favorite character is George because he cares about Lennie more than any other person and caredc for him threw all the bad things. Like lifting up the ladies dress like holding dead mice like shaking Curleys wife to death. George is very intelligent and he helped Lennie get out of trouble and get their new job so he could have a farm and have rabbits. George may be terse and impatient at times, but he never strays from his primary purpose of protecting Lennie.Unlike Lennie, however, George does change as the story progresses. The reader learns that he is capable of change and growth during his conversation with Slim, during which he admits that he once abused Lennie for his own amusement. From this incident George learned the moral lesson that it is wrong to take advantage of the weak. At the start of the novella, George is something of an idealist. Despite his hardened, sometimes gruff exterior, he believes in the story of their future farm that he tells and retells to Lennie. He longs for the day when he can enjoy the freedom to leave work and see a baseball game. More important than a ball game,

What is a Hero

A hero is someone who puts others safety before their own. a person, typically a man, who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. The person I chose is Hazel Grace from The Fault In Our Stars. Three qualities of Hazel Are being A Passive Fighter: I realized while listening to Kaitlyn that I didn’t have a premonition of hurting him. selfless;Often, Hazel thinks of others before herself.  She’s in remission, but her thyroid cancer threw gets to her lungs, and they don’t work well anymore.  In short, she continually battles internal drowning.  She knows her parents have suffered because of her cancer and that they will grieve when she dies.  However, she avoids making new friends because she considers herself “a grenade, ” and she doesn’t want to inflict any more damage than necessary Sure, she’s cynical, but I’m sure “a touch of cancer” and its treatments can do that to a person. humble  The Fault in Our Stars is a study of, among many things, heroism.  Augustus thinks a hero must leave a blazing memory in the consciousness of the culture.  He fantasizes about saving innocent children. Hazel Grace is such a heroic character because she fought through cancer and won her battle.

Pizza especially New York pizza is very amazingly cheesey. It’s delicious and it’s very scrumptious and it’s so gooey and the pepperonis are so greasy but in a good way. Pizza is a in my opinion one of the best Italian creations ever made, it’s great especially with cookies and soda. Pizza can have so many toppings-pepperoni, sausage, bacon, ham, turkey, olives, onions , green peppers, most of all cheese. Then some pizza’s have a crispy golden crust that’s also just wakes up my taste buds. when I get pizza from New York there’s always lots of gooey, bubbly cheese, rich tasty red sauce, loads of yummy meats such as spicy pepperoni, sizzling Italian sausage. Layers of Delicious veggies tangy green peppers, taste popping onions, and sprinkled with luscious black olives, all on top a soft, finger licking hand tossed crust. This picture below depicts the closest thing to the pizza I’m describing. But otherwise the pizza below looks so good and it’s probably the closest to the pizza up in New York without going to New York. One of the places I’ve been to in the town i live in is called Late Night Slice ( is probably the closest to New York pizza. Pizza is just so phenomenal, just so amazing and I just love it so much. But most of all pizza is so amazingly delicious. Also once I tried to make pizza and it was such a fail I’ll leave it to the pro. I just LOVE PIZZA.

Do The “Wright” Thing

So I have been in school for 16  weeks now so almost 4 months now. This school has it’s pros and cons – such as a diverse community, very different classes variant intelligent levels. Some cons are – Bullying , harassment and just meanness but that’s typical I think. Being in high school is fun also because  there are upperclassmen. It’s pretty to know upperclassmen to have underclassmen friends. Also my class schedule consists of :

  • 1st period Spanish 1
  • 2nd period Algebra 1
  • 3rd period Business  Foundations
  • 4th period Study Hall
  • 5th period Lunch
  • 6th period Acc. Biology
  • 7th period Acc. English 1
  • 8th period Acc. Modern World History

Then I go home do any homework that I got from that day or due that week. But anyways I’ve been noticing some students at my school being very rude to teachers and sometimes each other. Which is not okay. So I just would like to say that this isn’t the worst but there are better school and there are also schools that are worst then my school but I don’t want to be looked upon as a Franklin Heights Student. I want to be looked upon as a Franklin Heights Student. There’s a difference and it’s bad that there is a difference. There shouldn’t be a difference about the way you are looked at based upon what school you go to. That to me getting an education and where you get an education should not make a difference on how you are looked upon throughout your life. But other wise I love my school.

The Object Lesson

Dear, Geoff Sobelle

So in 2011 I moved to Rome, New York and my family and I stayed in New York for 3 months and moved back to my home town. I left so many memories. So many valuable things that can never and will never get back. My stuffed animals that are very near and dear to my heart. I lost that stuffed animal in the move. When I watched your performance I could relate totally and it was amazing.

Sincerely , Damonique Wright

Chicken Riggies

Ask anybody who knows anything about Upstate New York and they’ll tell you the struggling city of Utica is best known for great food.Sure, we’ve had our decades of decline but through it all, this surprisingly diverse city of 55,000 people has been able to maintain a quality of ethnic foods that quietly rivals most of its bigger sister cities.  While the city has a broad array of unique cultural flavors, nothing stands out more than its Italian cuisine.“The word (Utica) has become synonymous with delicious authentic Italian cuisine”“There’s something about the name Utica when talking about food,” said Charlie Digristina, owner of Charlie’s Pizza restaurants.  “The word has become synonymous with delicious authentic Italian cuisine and outside the area, it’s a big bonus if you feature a chef from Utica at your restaurant.” Read More: Chicken Riggies Recipe(Original)- The Real Utica Story [Vid] |

My take on chicken riggies it’s very delicious . Personally I have chicken Riggies as my birthday dinner every year. My mom always makes this dish so good. It’s spicy because she puts peppers but if you pick them out it’s not as spicy. This dish in my opinion looks a orangish-reddish color. This dish originated from Utica, New York. My mom is from rome, New York and those two places are about 10 minutes away,so she had this dish several times growing up. She makes the sauce. Then she boils the pasta. Next she cuts up the peppers. Finally she mixes all the ingredients together.
